✨ Button Magic ✨ Inspired by the book The Butt ✨ Button Magic ✨ Inspired by the book The Button Box By Margarette S. Reid
So much to explore! Shapes, colors, textures, materials, and sound. Buttons never lose their magic, kids of all ages can develop skills; counting, sorting, stacking and so much more. We will be coming back to buttons again and again.

Snack Cubes ⠀ ⠀ Teach your child about geometr Snack Cubes ⠀
⠀
Teach your child about geometric shapes in a tangible (and edible) way! These edible cubes are made out of cheese squares, grapes (or other small snackable items), and toothpicks. Set out a plate, butter knife, toothpicks, and snack items at a workstation, along with an additional set for you. First, show your child the toothpicks and gently feel the ends, so that they are aware of how sharp they might be so that they are as cautious as needed with them. Next, help your child cut the cheese or other snacks up into small cubes. Show your child how to set toothpicks out in a square shape, and connect with pieces of cheese or grapes at the corners. Next, add more toothpicks and cheese or grapes at the corners, and finish your snack cubes off by filling them out with the remaining toothpicks. Build as many snack cubes as you like, connecting them with more snack items. You could even stack them on top of each other to make a tall structure. When you are finished, enjoy breaking down the cubes and eating the snacks off of the toothpicks. If your child finds this activity difficult to construct on their own, break the task down into simple steps and build them together. When you've made all the cubes you like, break them down and eat the snacks off of the toothpicks. ⠀

What are you reading this week? 📖
Yes, it's winter, but we could all do with a remin Yes, it's winter, but we could all do with a reminder that springtime is coming soon! Join your children and make Wildflower Seed Bombs as personal little gifts to give away, or as a nice gift to yourself to prepare for warmer weather. 🌷⠀
⠀
🌻 Wildflower Seed Bombs:⠀
⠀
To make these colorful and happiness-spreading seed “bombs,” each child will need about 2 inches of air-dry clay, 1 teaspoon of good quality soil, and 1⁄2 teaspoon of wildflower seeds per child. To set up, prepare a suitable workspace, like a dining table, with a protective tablecloth. Measure out the clay,⠀
soil, and wildflower seeds for each child, and have them ready at their individual work stations. When it’s all set up, invite the children to the table. Have the children roll their clay into a ball then flatten the middle with their thumb, forming a little bowl. Have them pour the teaspoon of soil into the clay bowl, then mix it into the clay. Have them repeat the process of making a clay ball into a clay bowl. Next, have them pour the seeds into the clay bowl and gently mix in. Ask the children to form the seed mixture into a shape (hearts are cute!) and let them dry, a few days at the most. ⠀
⠀
Wrap your Wildflower Seed Bombs up as gifts, or save them for your own yard. When the weather is warmer, dig a hole in good soil, place the “bomb” in and gently cover. Water as needed and watch your flowers grow! 💐⠀
