Join us for a weekend that maximizes your home education, engage in wonder, & discover the essence of joyful learning.
The Wisdom Wonder Project is hosting our first ever Wonder Conference this October––a comprehensive weekend of training for home-educators and education-enthusiasts alike. This conference is for parents & educators of preschool through middle school age children––exploring and expounding on our theme this year of Less. But Better, it is a weekend of training to make the most of your teaching experience, learn how the teachers do it, and make space to reflect on what’s essential in your life.
To kick the conference off Thursday evening, Diane Stanley, an award-winning children’s author and illustrator, will keynote at SLO Classical Academy High School’s unique campus for a limited seating event. During this intimate evening, Diane will share how she altered her future trajectory when she took her very first art class during her senior year in college. From medical illustrator to prolific children’s book author, the story of Diane’s journey is sure to inspire. Conversation, drinks, and snacks will cap off the night.
On Friday, the conference will move into two full days of hands-on sessions for parents and educators of all levels. These teacher, staff, and expert-parent led sessions cover topics including Singapore Math (from Kindergarten to UMS), the IEW process, Latin, homeschool space organization, living a low tech life, and capturing your life with haiku.
Other session highlights:
- Friday, Diane will also lead sessions on the craft of research, writing, & editing, paving the way for local expert Lea Payne Scott on Saturday to speak on the Whole Brain Child, adolescent, and even parent!
- Anna Ingalls will share the vision behind her Wonder Boxes, a unique gift that accompanies her interactive literature readings
- Art teacher Guy Kinnear will cover how Wonder Play works as a lifestyle, will explore how it can be nurtured as an individualized daily practice (all ages)
- For older grades, Thaddeus Kozinski will lead you in the art of Socratic Seminar by discussing a short reading together
Don’t miss this opportunity to engage in a variety of hands-on sessions and enriching workshops that hone your educational approach while surrounded by a like-minded community. With space for reflection built into the conference, it’s self-care for you, the educator.
Registration prices increase on October 1st––so don’t wait! Grab a friend or your co-op for this weekend of extended training!
